What is the reason for the hot melt adhesive not sticking?

Some time ago, a customer asked us why the hot melt adhesive could not stick when the shoe material was compounded. Through this small case, I will answer such a question for everyone: what is the matter with the non-stick hot melt adhesive?

When the material is compounded, the hot melt adhesive is not firmly degummed or not pasted, which can be analyzed from the following three aspects:

1. Degumming or non-sticking caused by insufficient amount of hot melt adhesive: In order to save construction costs, some manufacturers use a small amount of material, and the material to be bonded is too heavy, resulting in insufficient bonding strength. At this time, you only need to increase the amount of glue to solve it.

2. Degumming or non-sticking caused by incompatibility between hot melt adhesive and material: Check whether the degumming or non-sticking is caused by the incompatibility of the type of hot melt adhesive used with the composite material. Some materials, especially those containing plasticizers, will chemically react with hot melt adhesives, affecting the viscosity of hot melt adhesives. If it is caused by the compatibility of materials, it is only necessary to re-select hot melt adhesives that can be compatible with materials. For manufacturers, it is very important to do proofing and testing before mass production!

3. There may be problems with the quality of the purchased hot-melt adhesive: if it is caused by quality problems, such as insufficient penetration of the hot-melt adhesive, or the hot-melt adhesive supplier should be held responsible. When purchasing again, choose a hot melt adhesive supplier with strength and guaranteed quality.
